Founded in France in 1988 as Maison Martin Margiela, Martin Margiela, a graduate of the prestigious Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts and one of the "Antwerp Six," revolutionized the fashion world with his deconstructive approach. John Galliano was appointed creative director in 2014, and the name was changed to "Maison Margiela" the following year.
